Star Rosie and her VIP escort Doug are ready to ride in the Phoenix Ride for Kids.

Motorcyclists at the 18th Phoenix Ride for Kids raised $22,990 for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation on Oct. 19.

Nearly 170 riders attended the event at Higley High School in Gilbert, Ariz., to honor our Stars, local children with brain tumors: Brock, Ellie, Gaites, Keegan, Leslie, Rosalena and Sabrina.

“I’m very grateful to everyone raising the money for research,” Ellie’s mom, Claire, told the riders. “The treatments are a decade old so research is very important in moving forward.”

Star Rosie told the crowd, “Thanks everybody for coming out and donating, raising the money, and for the ride itself.”

Making life better for Ride for Kids Stars is the reason motorcyclists across the country ride for the PBTF, which funds medical research and family support programs to help eliminate the challenges of childhood brain tumors.

The event is still collecting donations online at www.rideforkids.org. Fundraisers will receive incentive credit through Nov. 19.
