CULTURE AND TENNIS AT LOU CASTEOU
Cote d’Azur Chateau releases new dates for four more culture and tennis academies
Chateau Lou Casteou, a private hire residence in the French Riviera, has released the next dates for its Luxury Cultural Retreats and Tennis Academy.
The cultural retreat is aimed to appeal to all ages interested in cultural pursuits – singles and couples alike, at any level of expertise. Guests master the arts of Italian cuisine, singing & song-writing, dancing, trekking and painting. The course is taught by professionals in their fields, over six days, within the property’s lavish surroundings. Guests also visit local art galleries and a Provençal market and enjoy wine tasting sessions.
The Lou Casteou tennis academy is designed to hone the keen player’s skills over the course of five days. Guests will be coached by tennis professionals in the mornings, enjoy a poolside lunch and swim if desired, followed by match practise sessions and relaxed tournaments in the afternoons. Guests will then return to the chateau where enthusiasts can participate in tennis tutorials in the home cinema before dinner, to help improve technique and strategy, or simply relax and enjoy an aperitif if preferred. Evenings involve gourmet group dinners, wine tastings and informal entertainment.
The next cultural retreats will be held from Sunday 13 – Friday 18 October, 2013, and Sunday 4 – Friday 9 May, 2014. The next tennis academy dates are Friday 25 – Tuesday 29 October, 2013 and Friday 16th – Tuesday 20th May 2014.
Included in both packages are transfers from Nice airport, luxury accommodation, a formal champagne reception, drinks receptions in the cloisters, wine tastings, gourmet food and drink, nightly entertainment, and all teaching and materials. Both retreats can cater for up to 24 guests.
The price for accommodation in en-suite bedrooms with sea or mountain views, plus all activities and meals, for both the tennis and cultural academies is 5,500 Euros per couple, or pair sharing a room, or 2,950 Eurosper single person attending.
Lou Casteou, which means ‘The Chateau’ in old Provençal French, was built in 1904 by Lord Amherst of Hackney – a lover or antiquities who funded the Howard Carter expeditions to Egypt, and the discovery of Tutankhamen’s tomb. The property is situated in the Esterel Mountains between Cannes and St. Tropez, and enjoys breath-taking views of the ocean and picturesque villages below. Amongst other accolades, Lou Casteou was selected by Simon Cowell as his ‘judge’s house’ on The X Factor in 2011.
