From June through December, guests at Summer Lodge Country House Hotel, Restaurant and Spacan experience the extraordinary skills of the UK’s leading sommelier Eric Zwiebel and award-winning Executive Chef Steven Titman as they marry their skills once again to create their renowned Wine Dinners.Cellar Master Eric Zwiebel recently represented the UK at the prestigious ASI World Sommelier Contest held in Japan in March, finishing fourth. Steven Titman is the critically acclaimed Executive Chef at the restaurant at Summer Lodge, which has been recognized as the leading restaurant in Dorset.
Together they have created 12 wine dinners* beginning June 4 through December 3, 2013. Focusing on a selected house or style chosen by Eric Zwiebel, and with a guest speaker to inform and entertain diners, the wine dinners begin at 7:00 p.m. with an introduction to the selected wines. Dinner includes a delicious four-course menu specially created by Steven Titman to complement the five different wines (including aperitifs) showcased during the evening. *For a full list of Wine Dinner dates please click here.
Among the 12 dates are three shorter wine courses held over lunch as well as two very special black tie events; the first being a Black Tie dinner on August 6 with five Sommeliers and the second onDecember 3 for a very special Black Tie dinner with Pommery Champagne.
The short wine course lunches start from $80 per person and the wine dinners are from $155 per person. The Pommery Champagne Black Tie dinner costs from $235 per person.
Wine enthusiasts can also book an afternoon wine workshop with Cellar Masters Eric Zwiebel MS and Emanuel Pesqueira, which includes one Champagne, two white wines, two red wines and one sweet wine. Sessions are available upon request between 4:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. and cost $190 per person.
For guests wishing to combine a wine dinner with a stay in one of Summer Lodge’s elegant bedrooms the Wine Dinner Package includes one night’s accommodations in a beautifully appointed bedroom, a wine dinner for two people including aperitifs and matching wines, and full English breakfast for two. The Wine Dinner package starts from $665 per room per night inclusive of VAT.
