Dear Friends of The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa,It has been an amazing few months and even though winter had us tightly in its grip, the start of spring was announced in the Cape by wild flowers as far as the eye could see.
July’s Mandela Day is always a time for us to ‘give back’, and this year we embarked on an exciting project with our adopted Vukukhanye Primary School in Guguletu, with a promise of a fully functional library and a computer to help enhance learning skills. Thanks to the generosity of a number of our suppliers, monetary contributions from our staff and some personal time, as well as a donation of 1500 books from Cape Town Library, we delivered on our promise.
We have also partnered with the Amy Biehl Foundation and its Entrepreneurial Enterprise Skills Development Programme for the hospitality sector by taking on a number of interns for on the job skills training in all our departments. It is our hope to cultivate talented individuals to either stay on as permanent employees, or use us as a reference in their search for employment in the industry.
With September we have entered Heritage Month and this year we are offering traditional South African dishes at each of our three Red Carnation Hotels South Africa properties. We invite you to come and try the ‘Bunny Chow’, ‘Lamb Shank Bobotie’ or ‘Gourmet Boerie’! This is also the time when we start to plan those end of year functions. We have a variety of options available to suit big and small gatherings, including specially created menu options, with our able events team taking care of all the arrangements.
Our Summer Calendar of Events starts on 1 October and you can look forward to a wide range of special events and offers.
First up this summer is our ‘CUPPA for CANSA’ Pink High Tea event on 1st October in association with Le Creuset and Pongrácz, with 50% of the entry price of R300 donated to CANSA.
Take advantage of the incredible exchange rate and book a holiday in the African Summer sun with our ‘Cape Town Big 5’ package, from R 5 185 per room per night.
We are already hard at work finalising the arrangements for our Christmas and New Year’s Eve parties. This year promises to be spectacular, with our ‘Bond’ inspired theme for New Year’s Evealready creating a huge buzz. Ensure you book early to avoid disappointment!
As we enter the last quarter of the year and the wonderful madness this always brings, I look forward to welcoming you all to The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa in the very near future. |
