The North America Office of Duesseldorf Tourism and Duesseldorf Airport announce:

China on the Rhine – A Summer of Chinese Cultural Events in Duesseldorf

The great presence of Chinese people and culture in Düsseldorf is a major influence on the city’s world-famous variety of top-notch art events and festivals.  This summer, four celebrations of Chinese culture are highlights in the 2015 cultural calendar, including the annual Chinafest on September 5, 2015.

Düsseldorf, Germany – It may be surprising, but Düsseldorf and China are closely connected, and the ties show up in many ways all around the city. Around 2,700 Chinese live and work in Düsseldorf and more than 300 Chinese companies are located here, with about 800 in the region.  Air China now has five weekly non-stop flights from Düsseldorf Airport (DUS) to Beijing, and in September Cathay Pacific starts operating four weekly non-stop flights to Hong Kong.  After the USA, China is the next biggest market for the region, with about 21 billion euro in exports last year alone.

This summer, Düsseldorf will express its love for China with four major cultural events:

Chinafest – September 5, 2015

One of Düsseldorf’s major outdoor festivals, the annual Chinafest, is now in its fifth year and attracts about 30,000 to the city’s famous Old Town for a free all-day program of Chinese art and culture presentations, music and dance performances, and all kinds of related activities for the whole family.
