The citizens of Munich have long and actively campaigned for the creation of a Documentation Centre, addressing the history of National Socialism in the city. The opening of the new building, planned for April 30, 2015, will finally fulfill this wish and provide a forum for the critical discussion and analysis of National Socialism in Munich; an act which has been called for since the end of the Second World War.

Exhibition at Haus der Kunst until February 2, 2015
The critical reflection of his own work against a new temporal background has always been a defining feature in the art of Georg Baselitz. The exhibition presents the new series of his works alongside black bronze sculptures that were created during the same period. The formal and contextual renewal to which Baselitz repeatedly subjects his own work, is demonstrated retrospectively using related and complementary examples from the mid 1960s to today.
