GET INTO THE SPIRITS WITH DEL MAR PLAZA’S CURATED COCKTAIL COLLECTIONS
Inspired Cocktail Collections at Plaza’s Restaurants Feature Thousands of Worldly Libations
DEL MAR, Calif. – May 16, 2014 – Del Mar Plaza, located in the beautiful coastal village of Del Mar, delights visitors with the opportunity to indulge their senses and delight their palates with exquisite spirit collections from around the world. Amidst cobblestone pathways, trickling fountains, and sweeping ocean views, the Plaza’s array of restaurants and bars serve up an adventurous path worth wandering down.
Beginning on the street level, Del Mar Rendezvous, a nouveau Chinese eatery, boasts a collection of 25 craft beers. Known for it’s award-winning cuisine, guests can pair the varied beer options with an enticing menu of modern and light Chinese fare, including gluten-free and vegetarian options.
Wandering up to the second floor Market Level of the Plaza, guests can experience signature Japanese libations of sake and refreshing Shochu cocktails from Shimbashi Izakaya. The traditional Japanese restaurant offers an extensive collection of sake in addition to Shochu, a clear distilled spirit that delivers the perfect foundation for an inspired craft cocktail. Selections from the restaurant’s multi-faceted menu can be recommended for sake pairing by one of the restaurant’s experts.
Next on the trail, guests should travel to the Plaza’s third floor where they’ll find their own Tequila Sommelier at the new El Agave restaurant. Offering the largest collection of tequilas in the region, the restaurant’s Tequila Museum is composed of more than 1,000 premium tequilas and agave-based spirits from around the world. Included in the collection is El Agave’s own signature award-winning tequila brand, “Tequila Agave Artesanal.” The restaurant and tequileria is a one of a kind San Diego favorite, serving up traditional Mexican cuisine inspired by the cooking styles of the Aztecs, Mestizos and other ancient cultures.
Crossing over the third floor pathways to Pacifica Del Mar, guests can toast the town at the approachable yet haute Ocean Bar. With nightly happy hour specials and fresh ocean-to-table cuisine, the bar is a destination in itself. The pièce de résistance, however, is Pacifica’s International Vodka Bar. With more than 200 of the world’s most finely crafted vodkas, guests can travel the world without leavings their seats. The International Vodka Bar continuously expands its unrivaled collection, showcasing vodkas from more than 20 countries including Austria, Belgium, Canada, Finland, Russia, Sweden and France.
Meandering the Plaza’s passageways, the trail leads to the Ocean View deck on top of the Plaza. Here, guests will find award-winning wines at Il Fornaio restaurant and the outdoor Enoteca del Fornaio wine bar. Honoring authentic Italian traditions, the intimate bar presents an unsurpassed array of regional Italian wines complemented by daily homemade antipasti. While sampling an Italian red, white or sparkling wine, enjoy the spectacular Pacific Ocean view while watching the sun set from your front row seats at Del Mar Plaza.
