NADIA Takes Her Rightful Place

Sister label to Laetitia Estate Vineyard & Winery changes course

July 31, 2012 – (Arroyo Grande, CA) NADIA, the sister label to Laetitia Estate Vineyard & Winery, has recently undergone a revamp.  The brand, which features highly sought-after fruit from the Santa BarbaraHighlands Vineyard in eastern Santa Barbara County, will now concentrate solely on Bordeaux and Rhône variety wines, while Laetitia continues to offer primarily Pinot Noir and sparkling wines from the Arroyo Grande Valley AVA. New varietals under the NADIA label will be released in Fall, 2012.

“The Highlands Vineyard, which has ideal weather conditions, is phenomenal for Bordeaux and Rhône wines,” said NADIA Winemaker, Eric Hickey.  “And with first pick of the best fruit, it makes sense for us to showcase those varieties with the NADIA label.”

To kick off its new focus, NADIA has released the 2011 Santa Barbara Highlands Sauvignon Blanc.  With mouth-watering aromas of tropical fruits, hints of cut grass and juicy lime, this vibrant white wine is an ideal companion to any warm-weather meal.  NADIA also offers its 2010 Santa Barbara Highlands Cabernet Sauvignon, which boasts extreme focus, intense structure, and concentrated notes of black currant, and pomegranate laced with clove and graham cracker.

Located 90 minutes east of Santa Maria, California, in the Cuyama Valley, the Santa Barbara Highlands Vineyard is well outside the more populated wine regions of the Central Coast.  Its effect on high-end wines, however, has been momentous, with producers from Sans Liege to Grace Wine Company sourcing Highlands’ fruit.  At 3,200 feet above sea level, with consistently warm days, gentle afternoon breezes, and cold nights, Santa Barbara Highlands’ temperature can vary by as much as 50 degrees in one day.
