Portland, Maine – The Kennebunkport Festival marquee Art of Dining dinner featuring the powerhouse team of Chef Barbara Lynch of Boston  and Bettina Doulton of Cellardoor Winery sold out in record time. Thirty lucky guests snapped up the tickets for a chance to feast on a tasting menu from the James Beard Award-winning, Relais & Chateaux Grand Chef while sipping Bettina Doulton’s wines with each course in gorgeous home of designer Louis Hurlbutt. Proceeds from their dinner—like all twenty-two of the Art of Dining Dinners—go directly to the fight against childhood hunger in Maine via Share Our Strength. Six other dinners have also sold out.

“The Art of Dining Dinners are the heart and soul of the Festival,” said Elizabeth Mitchell Hunt, Director of Events and Sponsorships at Maine and Maine Home+Design magazines, the producers of the Festival. “The evenings are quintessentially summertime in Maine. People from all over who have never met come together, have dinner at the dining room table of a private home in the Kennebunks and form life-long friendships. The Art of Dining Dinners animate the hospitality and community that are hallmarks of the entire Festival.”

At each Art of Dining Dinner a star chef commandeers the kitchen of a home selected my Maine Home+Design and serves a multi-course meal. A sommelier pours wine that pairs with each course.Art Collector Maine and Maine Arts curate the dinners—art by Maine artists hangs in the homes. The Art of Dining Dinners are schedule for Tuesday, June 4, Wednesday, June 5, and Friday, June 7—tickets are $150 or $200pp. All the chefs donate their time and the cost of food. 100% of the proceeds go to Share Our Strength Maine. In 2012 the dinners raised over $20,000 to battle childhood hunger.
