Media Tours in 2013

We’re planning our media tours for the coming year, and we’d love to hear if you’re interested in visiting Bellingham. Send us an email and please include writing samples and your interests.

Snow, Spirits and Spas
Writers will enjoy snowshoeing on Mount Baker, taste locally-made spirits (from moonshine to mead), learn about local spirits within an old growth forest and those lurking around our Historic District and relax with a spa treatment.

We’re thinking of changing things up a bit this summer and inviting regional writers to spend just one day with us (one-night accommodations will be available). Our one-day themes may include bikes, beer and books; golf; and motorcycles.

Vanishing Ice and Art

Details of this fall tour are not yet set, but we will be inviting writers in late October/early November to get a sneak peak of a special exhibit at the Whatcom Museum called Vanishing Ice. It will introduce the rich artistic legacy of the planet’s frozen frontiers now threatened by climate change. Writers will also get a taste of the local arts and culture scene and nightlife.
