Bjoern Rudek – Historic Highlights of Germany bjoern.rudek@historicgermany.com

It promises to be an adventure of a special kind when Tracy Bee starts her summer discovery tour on the 15th of August across Germany to 13 historic cities – the Historic Highlights of Germany.

What makes her journey different from traditional sightseeing? She will immerse herself into the unknown facets of those cities which are world-famous and keep many unexpected surprises. Celebrities, extraordinary hotels, local traditions and Germany’s modern lifestyle – history, fairytale and the present are combined here. The wine bar-hopping with the city soldier, the climb to the heights of Heidelberg Castle during the annual Castle Illumination, a trip around the world within 24 hours outside the gates of Berlin and the battle of the gladiators in the packed Roman amphitheater will surprise the followers around the globe as much as the workshop of a puppet master or chocolatier or the letterpress printing of the 15th century in the workshop of the “Man of the Millenium” – Johannes Gutenberg.

We are delighted that Tracy Bee from Vancouver decided to do this unique round trip. In a daily updated travel blog she will write about her experiences, will post photos of interest and present the cities and their people”, says Björn Rudek, Managing Director of the city network that has existed for 35 years, whose member cities are more than 2000 years old and represent true turning points of European history. “The appeal for the followers is that they are able to get first hand reports of Tracy’s adventures and experiences and can communicate with her interactively in real-time”, says Rudek.

A travel blog that moves deliberately away from the most famous German cities and reveals what has remained hidden for many travelers until now: gems with an impressive cultural heritage and residents who love the connection between past and present, preserve it and develop it further ac-cording to present-day needs. Björn Rudek: ”Tracy Bee will definitely provide ideas and inspiration to the travelers and a special surprise is kept for the followers at the end of the journey!”

More information on the blog and the itinerary can be found on www.historicgermany.com. The website nicely illustrates all of the cities and presents topics that Tracy will experience and document on. Followers can accompany Tracy on www.facebook.de/historicgermany.
