Ellerman House Journey LaunchedEH
New York, NY – August 25, 2014 – Ellerman House in Cape Town, South Africa has introduced the “Ellerman House Journey,” a perfect chance to experience the renowned art and wine in the region. Through this unique South African journey, guests who book a minimum of four nights at the property will receive a wine tasting with the head sommelier, a Cape Town art drive, a reflexology treatment for two and a 10% discount on accommodation. This new experience will provide art and wine enthusiasts the opportunity to taste some of South Africa’s best wines while being introduced to the history and diversity of the booming South African art scene.

Boasting one of the most important South African art collections in the world, Ellerman House is a sanctuary for travelers with a passion for art. Through the “Ellerman House Journey,” guests will have access to the property’s collection of almost 1,000 works ranging from Masters to Contemporary. Guests will also have access to a knowledgeable guide who will bring them on a journey that explores the huge social and cultural shift that South African art has made from the mid-nineteenth century to the present. In addition, guests will be treated to a Cape Town Art Drive, where their guide will take them on a personal tour of the famed Everard Read Gallery as well as other influential galleries in the area.

The “Ellerman House Journey” not only aims to introduce guests to South African art, but also to the wines in the area through their new Wine Gallery, created to share the heritage behind the wines of the region. The Wine Gallery is much more than a functional space, it is a work of art made to showcase the property’s collection of over 7,500 bottles of South African wine and to bring the experience of the CapeWinelands into Ellerman House. Guests will meet with Manuel Cabello, Head Sommelier at Ellerman House, for a bespoke wine and cheese tasting of a selection of South Africa’s finest wines, where he will also go over the history of each wine and answer any questions guests may have. For those who would like to extend their trip and visit the Cape Winelands themselves, Manuel will be able to suggest wineries based on guest preferences.

Travelers must book a minimum of four nights in a Deluxe room or higher at Ellerman House to enjoy the “Ellerman House Journey,” which includes 10% off accommodation, a wine and cheese tasting, a Cape Town art tour and reflexology treatment for two, in addition to the normal Ellerman House inclusions.
