FOUND:RE PHOENIX ANNOUNCES NEXT ART SERIES, “IT’S ALL ABOUT US”
March’s art show sure to wow locals and visitors alike.
February 23, 2017 (Phoenix, Ariz.) – FOUND:RE Phoenix, a one-of-a-kind lifestyle hotel experience with every design and detail inspired by local contemporary art, culture, fashion and music, is proud to announce their March art exhibit “It’s All About Us” – celebrating art in all forms. The unique exhibit will run from March 3 through March 31 showcasing the works of Leslie Barton and Steve Weiss.
Paintings, photography and video will be on display in the hotel’s art gallery, The Studio throughout the month of March, showcasing the works of Barton and Weiss to locals and travelers alike. Leslie Barton and Steve Weiss have individually and collaboratively rocked Phoenix’s art culture since the mid-1980s. Together, they created the 15 years and running No Festival Required Independent Cinema at Modified Arts, installed site-specific videos at 2 Artelphx events and AZ/88 and uploaded politically charged YouTube videos on downtown loft development and the CityScape/(lack of) Patriots Square Park.
Separately, they have pursued their own passions; Barton with her painting, performance art and stand-up comedy, Weiss with his photography and video work. Barton’s art channels a visceral streak of Expressionism, while Weiss’ silver gelatin prints uncover emotional responses from nature and inanimate objects. For the First Friday and Third Friday openings and all through Art Detour weekend, a HD video screen will feature silent short film loops from several projects, including the award-winning “He/She” room videos at AZ/88, commissioned by the late Janis Leonard.
