The Meridian Club on Pine Cay, Turks and Caicos Redefines Barefoot Luxury with Exciting Property Changes and 2016 Promotions
The distinctive 800-acre private island resort caters to discerning travelers.
PINE CAY, Turks and Caicos Islands – Tuesday, January 26, 2016 – The Meridian Club, Turks and Caicos, an award winning private island resort announced today a host of dynamic changes and promotions for the 2016 season including a new property name and management structure. The enriching additions and even more divine experiences to the unpretentious yet upscale property, the only resort on Pine Cay, affords guests a desired serene retreat set away from their day to day life.
“We are thrilled for the 2016 season and the highly favorable changes and additions it brings with it,” said Debbie Keller, General Manager of The Meridian Club, Turks and Caicos. “As a team, it is important to us to reflect the image of the property without compromising the needs of our guests, and I am certain we have accomplished this by bringing new culinary, promotional and authentic private island experiences with unique barefoot luxury to today’s traveler.”
NAME REFLECTION – Property and Restaurant Name Changes
Previously known as The Meridian Club, Pine Cay, the property changed its name recently to The Meridian Club, Turks & Caicos. Though most guests know the property is situated on its own private island of Pine Cay, potential guests seeking a sanctuary for vacation tend to research Turks & Caicos. Staying ahead of the curve, this change will aid the hotel to reach new guests who desire a true private island or “disconnected” vacation, one like “Wolfgang Puck meets Cast Away” (to quote a guest).
In conjunction with this, the restaurant, well-known for breathtaking views and quality cuisine serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner to hotel guests has been named The Meridian Club Bistro. Receiving recent accolades, the popular spot is open to the public for lunch with advanced reservations, which also includes access to many of the islands nature and water sports activities.
KEY PEOPLE – Changes to Management Structure
Debbie Keller is the new General Manager, renowned for her international hospitality experience. After ten years, Bev and Wally Pachta retired and transitioned the reigns to Keller (past Island Manager) in 2015. Pastry Chef, Sara Spudowski has been named Executive Chef. Spudowski’s menu will include exciting new options and signature dishes, such as the delightfully tasteful breakfast burrito, delicious lunch buffets, holiday-themed presentations, and dinners up to 6 courses. Spudowski is known for her most recent published recipe, Ginger Coconut Mahi Mahi.
PROPERTY UNIQUENESS – 2016 Specials, Additions and Island Buy-Outs
The property is offering a SPRING SPECIAL promotion with a $125 nightly savings for APRIL STAY BOOKINGS. Also, beginning May 1, rates for Premium Rooms are discounted and start at $950 a night, depending on length of stay. Vacations at The Meridian Club, Turks & Caicos always include the boat/taxi transfer, all meals, and all activities. Noting that vacationers might prefer beverages to be included too, there is now an ALL-INCLUSIVE SUMMER PACKAGE in June and July that offers two drinks per person per meal and an excursion. The booking window is short, so inquire soon.
In the past year, the property added the option of air conditioning to some accommodations, though not necessarily needed with the Caribbean island breezes flowing in from the beach and calming air circulating with traditional ceiling fans, honoring the need of some guests. Still being able to offer the disconnect feel but meeting the need of certain travelers, the club now offers free Wi-Fi throughout the property. Some more functional changes will be seen with the upcoming installation of online booking and upgrades in the lounge. Staying true to the unwinding reputation the property likes to keep, there are still no TV’s, radios, or clocks in the rooms. Shoes are optional.
Offering a local authentic travel experience, Pine Cay is an ideal location for a private event, perfect for celebrations such as weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, and more. An 800-acre island with two miles of beach that only guests and day visitors can truly indulge, the property also hosts other events such as corporate retreats and family reunions. With 13 beach units and private home rentals, plus offering inspired creative cuisine, ISLAND BUY-OUTS usually run from 15-60 people depending on the guests’ needs. Availability and pricing is ideal in June and July.
