Hotels from affordable to luxurious
Frankfurt/Main, 26th June 2015 (tcf): In recent years, Frankfurt has been gaining more and more popularity as a holiday destination, with first–class service and hospitality having always been a top priority for the local hotel industry and the population at large. When it comes to accommodating its guests, Frankfurt has the right type of establishment for every taste and every pocketbook, be it a family-owned guesthouse or an international five-star hotel. That is because the range of hotels available in the Main metropolis is as diverse as the city itself. To no one’s surprise, Frankfurt is the perfect destination for a leisurely weekend getaway. Whether it’s a stroll across the historical old town, a visit of the magnificent botanical gardens, a guided tour of the famous Goethe-House or an excursion to the museum embankment, Frankfurt is fortunate to be a city of short distances, a place where sightseeing attractions, cultural institutions, shopping districts, outdoor events, cafés, bars and restaurants are just a stone’s throw from one another. A proper city visit obviously also requires the right hotel, one that does its part in making your stay memorable. We have compiled a short selection of such establishments for you below. But be aware, this list represents just a small excerpt of the many options available to you. All in all, Frankfurt is home to nearly 270 accommodation establishments, offering approximately 44,360 beds.
Hotel Villa Oriental Frankfurt is Germany’s first orientally themed hotel, offering guests a unique alternative to Western-style hotels. Its guest-rooms have been lovingly furnished in typically oriental style, with the bathroom design being particularly appealing. Guests have been told to expect an atmosphere reminiscent of “Arabian nights.”
The very relaxed 25hours Hotel by Levi’s is centrally situated in Frankfurt’s bustling station district. Collaborating closely with Levi’s, the famous jeans brand, the owners have created a modern boutique hotel that pays tribute to the fashion, design and culture of the 20thcentury. Each hotel floor reminds of the style of a particular decade, such as the elegant Forties, the fabulous Fifties, the swinging Sixties, the disco Seventies, and so on. One thing is certain – every stay here is unique.
The Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof has been welcoming an international clientele for more than 130 years. The five-star hotel is home to Frankfurt’s largest hotel spa, a serene place of rest and recuperation. The Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof also boasts two exquisite fine-dining restaurants, a gourmet establishment named “Français” and the Japanese eatery, IROHA. The hotel’s sun-drenched terrace is yet another place where guests have the chance to relax after a hard day’s work or play.
The Grandhotel Hessischer Hof is Frankfurt’s only privately owned and operated five-star hotel. It is also a member of “The Leading Hotels of the World”. Priceless paintings, antique furniture, plush carpets and elegant fabrics characterise the impressive atmosphere of the Grandhotel Hessischer Hof. Riesling enthusiasts in particular will enjoy a stay at this time-honoured establishment, with a regal selection of white wines of this variety adorning the hotel restaurant’s wine list. Having recently undergone extensive reconstruction and renovation, the Grandhotel now also attracts wellness guests with a new and exclusive spa and health club, “FINEST Medical, Fitness & Health”. Various physiotherapists and a physician from the renowned Sportklinik Bad Nauheim are readily available to tend to your physical wellbeing. Last but not least, the hotel has also added a brand-new presidential suite to its accommodation spectrum.
The Holiday Inn Frankfurt – Alte Oper, meanwhile, features an open-plan lobby that includes a show kitchen, restaurant, bar and take-away café. The idea behind this concept is to make guests feel comfortable and at ease, and to enable them to do exactly what they want to, whether that be relaxing, working, eating or drinking. The hotel also has a special accommodation offer for families, with two children under the age of 18 being able to stay for free if they are happy to share a room with their parents. Children under the age of 13, meanwhile, may choose from a selection of meals that are absolutely free of charge.
The Bett & Bike Hotel MAINGAU is a particularly cyclist-friendly establishment. To start the day on the right note, sports-minded hotel guests have a special fitness breakfast available to them, served in a serene morning setting. Special lunch boxes comprising Panini sandwiches, bread rolls, fruit and mineral water are also available, making for an excellent snack taken “on the road”. The hotel also has a large and secure bike parking area as well as several eBike charging stations.
The young and young at heart may take advantage of the affordable and unconventional accommodation available to them at the Frankfurt Youth Hostel, which is scenically set along the banks of the River Main. Beds are made every day, with barrier-free rooms also being available. The hostel is situated in the lively going-out district of Sachsenhausen, just a 15-minute walk from Frankfurt’s old own and the museum embankment.
Featuring modern and suitably furnished guest-rooms, the A&O Frankfurt Galluswarte is yet another popular low-price accommodation establishment. The hotel’s multiple-bed guest-rooms are equipped with comfortable beds as well as separate showers and toilets, while the single, double and family rooms provide all the creature comforts of a standard two-star hotel. The hotel’s rooftop “SkyBar” offers guests beautiful views of the Frankfurt skyline.
Those looking for comfortable, fully furnished apartments for short to mid-term stays are also guaranteed to find the right place in the Main metropolis. The air-conditioned apartments of Citadines City Centre Frankfurt feature free W-LAN and a fully equipped kitchen. What’s more, the fairgrounds, Congress Center and Festival Hall are all just a short walk away. Directly across from these serviced apartments, one finds the new Skyline Plaza shopping centre, which is home to a variety of restaurants and the brand-new Meridian Spa. Nearby, the Adina Apartment Hotel Frankfurt Neue Oper offers its guests separate bedrooms and living areas, a fully furnished kitchen, a washing machine and a dryer. The Adina is located near Frankfurt’s opera house, just a five-minute walk from the banking district and the old town.
