Resort Offers Options for Every Type of Love Story

Scottsdale, AZ – Dec. 19, 2014 – While candy and flowers certainly speak to the heart, so too can frog’s legs and bleu cheese if the heart so desires.  This Valentine’s Day, follow the heart to an evening of romance in Talavera or enjoy a night of spontaneity and laidback ambiance at Proof, an American Canteen, at Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North.

“Valentine’s Day is a holiday primarily focused on couples, but also can appeal to those seeking a bit less traditional of a celebration,” explains Food and Beverage Director, Bryan Feigenbaum.  “We certainly have you covered if romance is on the agenda, but our Proof restaurant takes a different twist for those looking for something a little off the beaten path.”

On Saturday, Feb. 14, Talavera’s Valentine’s Day dining experience will be sure to impress, as guests enjoy a six-course specialty menu while taking in some of the best views in the Valley.  The menu begins with Kumamoto Oysters with caviar, Ricotta and Egg Yolk Ravioli with porcini mushrooms, Wagyu Tenderloin with spot prawns and, for dessert, a Chocolate Raspberry Budino with yogurt sorbet. The cost is $250 per couple, including a glass of Etoile Rosé with dessert and a takeaway treat. Sparkling wine pairings are available for an additional $130 per couple.

Talavera will offer a four-course version of this menu on Friday, Feb. 13, and Sunday, Feb. 15, for $95 per person; sparkling wine pairings are available for an additional $90 per couple. Extend the celebration in Onyx Bar & Lounge, where oyster and champagne specials will appeal to smaller appetites and guests can enjoy live music Friday and Saturday on the patio overlooking the Valley.

For a break from tradition, Proof, an American Canteen, will offer two unique three-course menus, with an “Angel versus. Devil” theme. The “Devil” menu features Roasted Garlic Bleu Cheese Dip with parmesan breadsticks.  Dig into Proof “Critter” Gumbo for the entrée, with frog’s legs, crab claws, crawfish and clams.  End the meal with a decadent and devilish Devil’s Food Cake. The “Angel” menu will offer a more traditional option, with Oysters and champagne mignonette to start. Enjoy a 6 oz. Filet for the main course with a baked shrimp and lobster stuffed tater tot. For dessert, guests will be tempted by house-made Angel’s Food Cake. An à la carte menu will be available, as well as a children’s menu.
