GROWTH IN ALL AREAS POSITIONS LOS CABOS

AS MEXICO’S MUST-VISIT DESTINATION IN 2013

New Hotels, Increased Airlift, Exciting Adventures & More

Los Cabos, Mexico (March 18, 2013) – Set against one of Mexico’s most naturally beautiful backdrops, Los Cabos has long been the destination of choice among sophisticated travelers seeking a once-in-a-lifetime vacation experience and will undoubtedly continue be in the spotlight as new offerings are announced in 2013. Providing travelers the ultimate luxury experience, the addition of new hotels, an improved infrastructure, increased airlift and exciting new adventures in Los Cabos will make the destination a top choice among leisure and business travelers alike.

Adding to the destination’s already impressive roster of high-end properties, El Ganzo, a 66-room oceanfront property located at the marina in Puerto Los Cabos just five minutes from the historic and charming town of San José del Cabo, recently opened its doors offering the artistic and cultured traveler an experience unlike anywhere else in the destination. Earlier this month,Sandos Finisterra Los Cabos reopened its doors after a multimillion-dollar renovation. Formerly the Finisterra Hotel, the property is the first Sandos resort in Los Cabos and the brand’s fourth venture in Mexico, offering traveler’s 228-renovated, waterfront rooms, a new world-class spa and a top-floor whale-watching bar. Later this year, Secrets Puerto Los Cabos, an adults-only resort, will redefine luxury and relaxation providing guests with 500 spacious suites each featuring a private balcony and terrace. And for the business traveler, the destination is planning to welcome a 157-room Hotel Hyatt Palace in San José del Cabo.

Los Cabos is more prepared than ever to welcome business travelers to the destination in 2013. As the host city for the 2012 G20 Summit, which welcomed world leaders and heads of state to the Baja Peninsula, the destination inaugurated the innovative Los Cabos International Convention Center and a new four-lane highway stretching from Cabo San Lucas to the capital of La Paz positions Los Cabos as top-choice for business travel this year. The convention center offers 72,000 square feet of functional space and capacity to accommodate up to 5,000 people for meetings and 3,000 individuals for banquets. Equipped with solar panels and environmental technology, the Los Cabos Convention Center was designed with energy efficiency and sustainability in mind and has been designated as a “green” facility. It has the largest green wall in the world, which serves as insulator and prevents the building from overheating in the warm summer months.

For leisure travelers seeking new activities and entertainment in the destination, the recent addition ofCabo Dolphin’s underwater dolphin swim experience and the opening of Rock & Brews restaurant in San Jose del Cabo are the destination’s most noteworthy new offerings. Swimming with the dolphins has been a popular experience in Cabo for travelers, however the new underwater experience puts a new twist on the traditional Dolphin Swim. Also new to Cabo’s long list of fantastic dining and nightlife option, KISS rock legends Paul Stanley and co-founder Gene Simmons joined forces to open the first international location of Simmons restaurant venture, Rock & Brews, in Los Cabos. The restaurant will feature a unique, concert-themed atmosphere and offer al fresco dining, taking advantage of Cabo’s near perfect, year-round weather.

Finally, getting to Los Cabos this year will become increasingly easier from North America with two new direct flight options adding to the already extensive airlift from over 24 US and Canadian cities. Starting June 2, Southwest Airlines will begin daily service between Austin, TX and just this month AirTran Airlines added a direct flight from Denver to Los Cabos. This new flight option follows the addition of another new direct flight from the Orange County gateway from AirTran, which launched in late 2012.

Los Cabos, located at the tip of the 1,000-mile long Baja Peninsula, is home to award-winning hotels, resorts, championship golf courses, rejuvenating spas, world-class sport fishing, and was the host city for the G20 Summit of global leaders this year. With a unique landscape of dramatic desert and white sand beaches, Los Cabos is an exotic escape within easy reach of most U.S. and Canadian cities.  For more information, images and videos from Los Cabos, please visitwww.visitloscabos.travel, follow us on Twitter@LOSCABOSCVB and visit our Facebook andYouTube accounts.
