THE BROADMOOR ANNOUNCES THE OPENING OF THE RANCH AT EMERALD VALLEY
Five-Star, Five-Diamond Resort to Open Intimate Luxury Guest Ranch in
Pike National Forest August 2013
Colorado Springs, CO—January 16, 2013— The Broadmoor, the Five-Star, Five-Diamond resort located at the gateway to the Colorado Rocky Mountains in Colorado Springs, announced today the opening of The Ranch at Emerald Valley in August 2013.
Just 8 miles west of The Broadmoor, encircling more than 100,000 acres of the Pike National Forest, The Ranch at Emerald Valley is an intimate retreat offering refined rustic luxury inspired by the charm of a wilderness enclave. Fly fish in pristine mountain lakes, hike scenic trails, explore the mountains on horseback or watch for birds and wildlife. At the end of the day, soak in the lakeside hot tub, curl up fireside with a good book, or sip a fine wine while enjoying the Colorado sunset.
The all-inclusive retreat features ten cabins, sleeping 34 guests between them, each lovingly refurbished in mountain cabin style offering beautifully appointed rooms highlighted by wood burning fireplaces. Broadmoor chef-prepared meals are served in the gracious Grand Lodge, where guests gather around the large stone hearth, enjoy pre-dinner cocktails at the bar and experience the expansive views from the terrace.
Distinctive to The Ranch at Emerald Valley is the unparalleled guest access to the amenities at The Broadmoor. With just a phone call, guests of The Ranch are whisked down the mountain to enjoy all of the amenities The Broadmoor has to offer, including the multiple swimming pools, fitness center, golf, shops, spa and distinct dining possibilities.
Originally founded over 100 years ago, Spencer Penrose, the gold and copper magnate who built The Broadmoor in 1918, bought the ranch in 1923, constructed additional buildings on site, and turned the property into his personal getaway called Camp Vigil.
“Reconnecting the history of The Ranch at Emerald Valley with The Broadmoor is a perfect complement to our heritage,” says Steve Bartolin, President and CEO of The Broadmoor. “We’re excited to offer guests an authentic Colorado wilderness experience. The service and cuisine at The Ranch will be at Broadmoor standards, while guests can enjoy access to the outstanding amenities at the resort.”
The Ranch at Emerald Valley debuts in August 2013, open to guests seasonally, May through October. Further information on The Ranch at Emerald Valley, including pricing, is expected to be released in June. Property renderings are available upon request.
