Organisers have announced that the fourth Rock Oyster Festival will return over the mid- summer weekend of Friday 21 to Sunday 23 June 2013.
Early bird tickets are now on sale for the family-friendly event which attracts thousands of visitors who come to enjoy the unique blend of food, music and arts.
Held on the banks of the Camel Estuary in North Cornwall, the festival’s 2013 dates were announced as organisers presented two local charities with a cheque donated from funds raised at last year’s event.
Dominic Boothroyd of The National Lobster Hatchery said: “The festival presented us with a very generous donation that will help us to continue delivering our marine conservation, education and research programmes.”
Rock Oyster Festival 2012 attracted more than 5,000 people over the three days and saw the involvement of more than 60 Cornish businesses. Visitors enjoyed music from Charlotte Church and The Bees, alongside demonstrations from Cornwall’s best chefs and delicious food.
Over £1000 was donated at the 2012 event, taking the total raised by the festival for charities and local community causes to nearly £10,000 since 2010.
The Polzeath charity TubeStation, who work with local children, were also supported by the event. Project director Henry Cavender said: “We were so stoked to receive this generous donation from the Rock Oyster Festival towards the community-building work we do.”
The food and music festival returns to Dinham House in June with organisers once again promising a line up of top chefs, critically-acclaimed music acts, great kids’ entertainment and world class food.
Event organiser Charlie Anderson said: “This will be our fourth year and the festival keeps going from strength to strength. Moving the festival to Dinham House two years ago has been a great success.
“It’s an absolutely stunning location and we now have the space to fit in a chefs’ theatre, food stalls, craft workshops, music stages, kids’ entertainment area and on-site camping.”
The team who organise Rock Oyster Festival are already planning the programme for next year’s event. Any businesses interested in getting involved should contact Charlie Anderson by email on: charlie@rockoysterfestival.co.uk.
A limited number of 400 weekend early bird tickets are now on sale priced at £46 for an adult and £10 for a child. For more information and to purchase tickets visit:
