Holiday Festival of the Arts – Dec 1-24
An annual Allied Arts event featuring the works of more than 100 local artisans and craftspeople. The affordable handmade products range from jewelry to paintings to wearable art to specialty foods.Downtown Art Walk – Dec 7Downtown Art Walk exhibits the high quality of artists and remarkable variety of venues present in downtown Bellingham. From 6-10pm on the first Friday of every month, galleries, boutiques, restaurants, studios and more keep their doors open to showcase a wide array of artwork by local and renowned visiting artists.
The Nutcracker – Dec 14-16
Northwest Ballet Theater has performed this festive classic at Mt. Baker every year since 1999. With growing community support, the company has been able to create an even more elaborate production then ever before.Borealis Brass Holiday Concert – Dec 15The Jansen Art Center is pleased to present from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks…Borealis Brass. The ensemble will present a program of spiritual and traditional holiday music.Resolution Run & Padden Dip – Jan 1
Come out to celebrate the New Year with the 2.6 Mileand 5.2 Mile Resolution run! Shortly after the run with will get together for a quick Polar Bear dip with coffee and snacks to follow. Its all free so come out and start your New Year right!Birch Bay Polar Bear Swim – Jan 1
The 2012 Annual Birch Bay Polar Bear Plunge drew approximately 600 participants that took the plunge in to the bays icy waters. This event also draws about 1,500 on-shore onlookers/cheerleaders watching as hundreds of shivering brave souls plunge in to the icy waters of Birch Bay as a kind-of ritual celebrating the start to a new year. |
