The Singular Patagonia Gears Up For Second Season
New Additions & Activities Enhance the Already Award-Winning Property
SANTIAGO, August 15, 2012 – The Singular Patagonia (
www.thesingular.com), which opened just last December to rave reviews and a multitude of industry awards, readies for its “second season” in the heart of Chilean Patagonia and instead of resting on its laurels, the hotel’s owners have enhanced the facilities, as well as the overall guest experience.
In addition to housing 57 guestrooms, a spa, museum, two-story restaurant, bar and lounge, the 100-year old landmarked and restored one-time Bories Cold Storage Plant will now also house a 100-person private meeting room with full A/V capabilities and a Yoga Studio – both overlooking the serene glacial waters of the Fjord of Last Hope. Also new this season is a full retail boutique where guests can purchase hand-made local crafts, the hotel’s Singular microbrew and other unique Patagonian souvenirs.
Adding to the authentic nature of The Singular’s expeditions, the hotel has remodeled a historic house on the land where the first settler, German explorer Hermann Eberhard, called home in the late 19th century. The area now acts as one of The Singular’s “Private Reserves” creating an area for guests to enjoy a lunch, outdoor barbecue and utilize as a jumping off point for trekking and kayaking. Also new, in addition to the nearly 20 expeditions / excursions on offer through the hotel’s private team of guides, the hotel has partnered with a local outfitter to offer guests fly fishing adventures.
Rates for the 2012 / 2013 season start at $1240* per night for Full Board (incl. all meals, transfers and excursions) or $350* per night Bed & Breakfast. For reservations or further information visit

About The Singular Patagonia:
Opened in late 2011, The Singular Patagonia sits on nearly 100 acres of breathtaking land in Puerto Bories deep in the heart of Southern Chile’s Patagonia region overlooking the Fjord of Last Hope. After a meticulous 10-year restoration and renovation, the post-Victorian 1915 Bories Cold Storage Plant, once the epicenter of the sheep farming industry and now designated a national landmark, breathes new life as a 57-room and suite luxury resort offering globe-trotting guests an unparalleled experience. The new property, resurrected by fourth generation relatives of the plant’s founders, pays homage to its historic past by returning the building to its original industrial grandeur while using modern, green technologies to deliver all of the conveniences and comforts guests expect today. Guests feel like true pioneers as they explore private reserves accessible only to hotel guests. From trekking to sailing the fjords, connecting and communing with nature is guaranteed. After a day of adventure guests can retreat to The Singular Spa or indulge in the gastronomic delights of the hotel’s restaurant – both of which use local sustainable ingredients to enhance the experience and illustrate the property’s dedication to responsible tourism. The Singular was named among the “Best New Hotels” by both Travel + Leisure and Conde Nast Traveler, as well as “Best New Adventure Lodge” by Outside Magazine.
