Providenciales, Turks and Caicos (June 13, 2012) – Grace Bay Resorts is pleased to report that its two award-winning resorts are operating at nearly peak capacity, and guests continue to express high satisfaction following a nearly complete eradication of the recent illness present on Providenciales. Both Grace Bay club and its sister property, The Veranda, are reaching 80% occupancy levels and virtually no guests are currently reporting symptoms and/or illnesses. Over the past week, less than 1% of guests were affected, and extensive sanitization efforts continue at both properties, as well as at several of the island’s other luxury resorts and restaurants. On June 7, the Ministry of Health and Education (MOHE) and Environmental Health Department (EHD), in conjunction with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), confirmed the ill! ness is the norovirus, which is the most common cause of acute gastroenteritis.”We are pleased to welcome guests back to Grace Bay club and have both resorts very busy again, and our staff is energized and on-hand to exceed all the needs and wishes of our guests.
