The legendary four-day gastronomic and golf experience will feature some of the world’s most renowned chefs, wine personalities, epicurean experts and exhilarating golf competition on Punta Mita’s two prestigious Jack Nicklaus courses. The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort and Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, located within Mexico’s most exclusive beach community along the shores of Riviera Nayarit, encourage travellers to kick off the New Year at the unparalleled event.

The culinary events will be hosted at The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort and Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, welcoming premier international talent and the most renowned chefs in Mexico. Participant chefs from America include: Abraham Salum of Komali; James Tahhan of Sabores; Diane DiMeo of Hook & Cleaver; Felipe Donnelly of Comodo; Dean Fearing of Fearing’s Restaurant; Carlos Gaytan of Mexique; and Richard Sandoval, chef of several restaurants around the world specialising in Latin cuisine. Mexican gastronomy will be represented by the talented chefs Daniel Ovadía of Paxia; Alfredo Villanueva of Romero y Azahar; Thierry Blouet of Café des Artistes Group; Edgar Nuñez of Sud777; Josefina Santa Cruz of Dumas Gourmet; and the prestigious pastry chef Paulina Abascal.

The event will begin Thursday night with the Opening Cocktail reception by Aeromexico and Delta Airlines to be hosted at the Sea Breeze Beach Club in The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort, where guest chefs, winemakers, sommeliers, tequila masters and artisanal brewers will welcome guests with an array of culinary delights and elixirs, all lead by the talented Gabriel Kolofon, Executive Chef who will coordinate the live cooking stations.

At Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, events will honour the rich history and culture of Mexico, with prominent Mexican chefs leading classes, tastings and dinners including PreHispanic Experience, a culinary experience focusing on ancient cooking techniques and ingredients, and Mixology Competition, led by the Resort’s certified Tequila Master Alfredo Sanchez. Other featured events include Sweet Temptations By Paulina Abascal, Punta Mita Iron Chef, and Private Chef’s Table. Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita will also play host to the Gourmet Awards Cena de Gala closing dinner on Saturday, January 30, 2016. A star line up of top Mexican chefs along with the culinary team of Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita will execute a stimulating Mexican Market Cuisine live cooking demonstration at Las Cuevas Beach.

For golf enthusiasts, the VI American Express Gourmet & Golf Classic will feature the Punta Mita Cup, a two-day golf tournament played on Jack Nicklaus’ two signature courses, Bahia and Pacifico, which features the famous three-par “Tail of the Whale,” the only natural island green. The 2015 American Express Gourmet & Golf Classic attracted 450 participants and raised more than USD 55,000 for acclaimed Mexican former professional golfer Lorena Ochoa’s foundation, which supports underprivileged children to reach a balanced life through educational programs, sports, healthy living and self-esteem seminars.
