CHICAGO — EXPO CHICAGO, The International Exposition of Contemporary and Modern Art, returns for its third year to Navy Pier’s Festival Hall, Sept. 18 – 21, 2014 after a successful fair in 2013 which reported vigorous sales and high collector attendance.EXPO CHICAGO will once again feature more than 100 of the world’s leading galleries including one of the signature programs of the fair, Exposure, the emerging galleries showcase providing younger galleries the opportunity to participate in a major international art fair. In addition, EXPO CHICAGO presents the return of the /Dialogues lecture series; IN/SITU, a program of curated site-specific installations; EXPO VIDEO, a selection of dynamic and cutting-edge film, video and new media works; a dynamic VIP program; as well as Vernissage, the opening night preview benefiting the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. Programming will extend beyond the exposition with the second annual EXPO ART WEEK (Sept. 15 – 21), as Chicago’s premiere cultural institutions join forces for a citywide celebration of art and culture. Attracting 30,000 visitors in its second year, EXPO CHICAGO continues to bridge a gap for Chicago’s contemporary arts community, helping to define the cultural future of Chicago and inspire the region’s collector base.“Our second edition proved to be a great step forward in establishing Chicago’s rightful place on the international art fair calendar each September,” said EXPO CHICAGO President/Director Tony Karman. “We proved that we can attract art enthusiasts from the greater Midwest, both coasts and internationally, and we are very proud that many of our participating galleries were successful in selling artwork while connecting with visiting collectors and curators who attended.
