PUCKER UP! LIMONEIRA SEARCHES FOR A PUCKER EXPRESSION THAT PACKS A PUNCH      
The Santa Paula-based citrus grower launches a social media contest that seeks out the best lemon pucker face
SANTA PAULA, CA. – Limoneira, one of our country’s largest citrus growers, is showcasing the fun side of lemons with a new social media competition.  The Pucker Face Contest asks lemon-lovers everywhere, to tantalize their taste buds with lemons and capture the ultimate “pucker face”.  Participants are encouraged to do whatever it takes to show off how zesty they can be- squeeze their lips, suck in their cheeks, squint their eyes, and then snap a picture of that tart moment and post it on Facebook!  “For years we’ve seen visitors make the infamous ‘pucker face’ at our ranch in Santa Paula, and we know that people all across the country are making it too,” said John Chamberlain, Director of Marketing.  “This contest is a fun way to find the silliest, sourest pucker face out there, and we’re excited to see all the great photos.” 

Pucker Face Contest competitors enter by emailing their zestiest photo topuckerfacecontest@gmail.com, including their first and last name, email address, and phone number and adding “Pucker Face Submission” in the subject line.  Contestants are also encouraged to post their submission on Limoneira’s Facebook page and tweet@Limoneira, tagging the post with #PuckerUp and #LimoneiraContest.  Visithttp://www.limoneira.com/Unleash/PuckerFace for more information.

 

Limoneira will post all submissions on its Facebook, www.facebook.com/limoneira under an album titled “Pucker Face Contest”.  The photo that garners the most “likes” beforeAugust 29, 2013, will win the contest!  The winners with the top 3 pucker faces will be announced on National Lemon Juice Day, August 29, 2013.  The first place winner will receive an iPad; second place, an iPod with a music card; and third place garners a gift basket full of Limoneira Lifestyle products!

 

National Lemon Juice Day celebrates the key ingredient in many fruit juices, cocktail recipes, and popular dishes.  Thanks to Limoneira, now the day also marks the crowning of the inaugural Pucker Face champion.
