Hotel d’Angleterre Celebrates 10 Years as Host to Michelin Starred
Tamarind for its Annual Indian Food Festival

This summer, Geneva’s lovers of fine food and luxury travel can discover the true flavours of Indian cuisine as London’s Michelin-starred Tamarind returns to the Hotel d’Angleterre for a two-week residency.

A team from Tamarind, headed up by executive chef Alfred Prasad, will be cooking at the luxurious five star hotel’s annual Indian Food Festival, or ‘Festival Gastronomique Indien Tamarind’, now in its tenth year. The Festival runs from July 4 to 21, 2012, during which Tamarind temporarily takes over the stoves of the renowned Windows Restaurant from Chef Philippe Audonnet.

Chef Alfred Prasad comments, “We are delighted to have been invited to return to cook again at the Hotel d’Angleterre in beautiful Geneva. It’s very humbling to receive such incredible support from the hotel itself as well as its guests and we feel very proud to have built up a loyal following of guests who attend the Indian Food Festival each year. We are extremely enchanted and inspired by the wonderful views and welcoming people.”

The Windows Restaurant, with its jaw dropping views of Mont Blanc, Lake Geneva and the iconic Jet d’Eau, is a wonderful setting in which to enjoy Tamarind’s unique brand of Indian ‘haute cuisine’. Guests can relax in the resplendent surrounds of the elegantly appointed dining room, while taking in the views and dining from a comprehensive carte of Tamarind’s finest dishes.

Dining highlights include:  Kalonji Jhinga – jumbo tiger prawns with ginger, yoghurt, paprika, ground spices and toasted nigella seeds; Peshawari Champen – tender lamb cutlets marinated with raw papaya, garlic, fennel and star anise; Dal Makhni – slow-cooked black lentils, a speciality of the North-west frontier; dessert trio – carrot fudge with melon seeds and raisins/ tandoor-grilled spiced pineapple/chocolate naan.
