Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (May 1, 2019) – Mexico’s Velas Resorts is rolling out new beverage menus complete with coffee cocktails and over-the-top presentations dedicated to Mexican coffee. Included in the resorts’ nightly rates, both hot and cold beverages made with coffee from the local area are offered as part of the resorts’ ongoing commitment to showcasing Mexican cuisine, culture and traditions.

At Grand Velas Riviera Maya, the Mayan restaurant Chaka will feature a Mayan Coffee made with Xtabentun, a liquor native of the region. To make the drink, mixologists light the alcohol on fire and pour it between conch shells then into a cup. In Baja California, Grand Velas Los Cabos will be serving three special coffee cocktails prepared with coffee from the peninsula. Served at its Koi Bar, some of the drinks also feature Damiana liqueur, a sweet, herbal alcoholic beverage made with the local Damiana flower.

On Mexico’s Pacific Coast, Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit and Casa Velas, the collection’s adults-only property, will offer both alcoholic and nonalcoholic options throughout the day. In addition to using local coffee from different parts of the region like San Sebastián del Oeste and Compostela, Nayarit, Mexican ingredients like cinnamon, cocoa, coconut milk, agave, and chili are also featured. Traditional drinks like a Mexican Coffee, akin to the Irish coffee but with tequila, complement unique recipes like the Coffee Colada, made with coffee liqueur, rum with coconut liqueur, pineapple juice, and pineapple pieces.

All-inclusive rates include luxury suite accommodations, a la carte gourmet meals at a variety of specialty restaurants, premium branded beverages, 24-hour in-suite service, fitness center, taxes, gratuity and more.
