Holiday Magic Includes Bedtime Story With Santa, New Year’s Breakfast, Astor Holiday Rink, Christmas Brunch, and more

ATLANTA (September 18, 2017) – The St. Regis Atlanta, an unparalleled in-town resort located in the elegant enclave of Buckhead, is pleased to announce it has reinvigorated its annual holiday events and attractions with new programs, including Bedtime Story With Santa, New Year’s Breakfast, and a special tent for holiday events and offerings.  The hotel has long been a holiday destination for Atlantans and seasonal travelers, enchanting guests with beloved traditions like the Thanksgiving Brunch, Astor Holiday Ice Rink, Christmas Brunch, its special Gingerbread House, and more.

“We’re thrilled to present new holiday programming to entice returning guests and Atlanta residents in addition to hosting Atlanta’s most cherished holiday rituals,” said Guntram Merl, the hotel’s general manager.  “Whether it’s enjoying the new Bedtime Story With Santa and New Year’s breakfast or visiting the Gingerbread House and skating at the Astor Holiday Ice Rink, The St. Regis Atlanta aims to provide guests and locals with another memorable holiday year.”

The holiday celebrations will begin on November 23 with a remarkableThanksgiving Brunch set in the hotel’s beautiful Astor Ballroom.  Two seatings will be offered – the first at 11 a.m. and the second at 2 p.m. – to experience a decadent brunch menu of Thanksgiving favorites created by Chef Jordan Barnett, a Bloody Mary and Mimosa bar, live jazz music from the Joe Gransden Six Piece Band, and a game day lounge for football fans.  Pricing is $149 for adults, $75 for children eight to 12 years old, $59 for children four to seven years old, and complimentary for newborns to three-year-old children.

Kicking off the new holiday programming is Bedtime Story With Santa, available to guests December 14 to December 24 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. every night.  Santa and Mrs. Claus will choose children staying in four lucky rooms to tuck in to bed each night, read them a traditional Christmas bedtime story accompanied by milk and cookies, and sign an autographed copy of “The Night Before Christmas.”  Pricing is $75 for the first child, and $30 for each additional child.

A New Year’s Day Traditional “Good Luck” Southern Breakfast will be offered for revelers this year from 7 to 11 a.m. on New Year’s Day and priced at $65 per adult.   In addition to the hotel’s traditional breakfast offerings, the menu will feature Southern classics such as Hopping John, Corn Bread, Pot Likker, Collard Greens, Brown Sugar Baked Ham and Freshened Up Black Eyed Peas.

Rounding out the additions to The St. Regis Atlanta’s holiday offerings is the elegant tent over the Astor Holiday Ice Rink, which will officially open November 24 for its ninth season.  Protected from the elements by a billowing sheer tent, elegant white lights adorn the rink and illuminate skaters as they glide to the sounds of festive holiday tunes.  The hotel will serve delicious hot cocoa, s’mores, and a full food and beverage menu for skaters to enjoy as they warm up after a turn on the ice.  The Astor Holiday Ice Rink is open to the general public Thursday to Sunday from November 24-26, November 30 – December 3, December 7-10, December 14-31, and January 1-5.  On Thursdays and Fridays, the rink is open from 12 to 8 p.m., and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.  The hotel will offer extended holiday hours for the ice rink from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. December 18-24.  On Christmas Day, skating is available from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and from 12 to 8 p.m. December 26 to January 1, 2018.  Additionally, the rink will be close on December 12 and 13, will be open from 6 to 10 p.m. on December 6, and open December 7 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.  Skating sessions will start every hour and are priced at $30 per hour for adults and $18 per hour for kids (tax and service charge not included).

The Astor Holiday Ice Rink also provides a perfect venue for private ice skating parties or group gatherings.  Private party skating rates are $40 for children and $60 for adults, excluding tax and automatic service charge.  Private and exclusive parties also have an $800 food and beverage minimum.

Additionally, The St. Regis Atlanta’s pastry team will construct Atlanta’s largest gingerbread house to greet guests in the hotel’s grand lobby entrance.  The gingerbread house will take about 500 hours to construct, and will be a decadent combination of 300 pounds of flour, 100 pounds of sugar, 10 pounds of spice, 70 pounds of shortening, 45 pounds of corn syrup and 16 pounds of molasses.  The creation will be adorned with over 300 pounds of royal icing, gingerbread figurines, poinsettias, and candy.  The gingerbread house will be unveiled on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, at 6 p.m. in the lobby.  In conjunction with the gingerbread house unveiling, the hotel will present the Christmas tree lighting ceremony to add to the hotel’s festive ambiance.  Santa will make a special guest appearance for both the gingerbread house unveiling and Christmas tree lighting, and will be sabering a special bottle of champagne.

A mouth-watering Christmas Brunch will also be available to the public on Christmas Day, with two seatings at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.  Santa will grace the special brunch to greet each guest and saber a bottle of champagne to begin the celebrations.  Accompanying brunch will be live music and other festive entertainment.  Pricing is $185 for adults (includes full bar), $75 for children eight to12 years old, $59 for children four to seven years old, and complimentary for newborns to three-year-old children.

Visitors to the hotel are also encouraged to take part in the grand St. Regis tradition of the hotel’s Winter Wonderland Holiday Tea. There will be two seatings daily at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., and pricing is $78 for adults and $52 for children four to 12 years old.  Children under the age of three receive a free tea experience.

Inspiration for holiday experiences at The St. Regis Atlanta dates back more than a century to the renowned Astor family, founders of The St. Regis, who hosted elaborate events for their illustrious friends, known as “The 400.”  These ornate events included a winter holiday soiree featuring an ice skating rink in the grand ballroom of the flagship St. Regis New York.
