Moonshine, Live Music, Great Food and More!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

RICHMOND, VA (November 9, 2015) – Get your shine on at the second annual VA Moonshine Festival, a moonshine and high-end whiskey tasting, on November 21, 2015, at the Richmond International Raceway.

The moonshine-tasting event is proud to add a high-end whiskey tasting tent sponsored by Jim Beam.  The festival will feature tastings and full pours from local craft beers and wine as well. Several master distillers will provide information about many of the 15+ moonshines present, including RVA’s own Belle Isle Craft Spirits.

Tickets for the event are available online for $35.00. The event opens to general admission at 2pm in the Old Dominion Building.  Early Shiner’s passes will admit a limited few into the event two hours earlier at noon, and are also available online for $49.00. Tickets for designated drivers are available for $10.00.

Metro Bar and Grill will be featuring 804ork chef Sean Murphy, who will be treating attendees to specialties from his upcoming restaurant, Murphy’s Table. You can expect to find Deltaville Oysters, prepared both Rockefeller and grilled. Murphy is also bringing his shepherds pie with a moonshine herb demi glaze and Andouille oyster corn pudding.

Small plates from RVA staples, ranging from $3-10, will be also be available. Mama J’s will be providing their Southern classics like fried catfish, mac ‘n cheese, collard greens, and corn muffin squares. Nacho Mama’s will be offering comfort foods like spare ribs, chili, and pork tacos. Halligan’s will be contributing their American classics – pork and chicken BBQ sandwiches and French fries.  Other food vendors include RedEye Cookie Co and Big Daddy’s Salsa.

The old-timey nostalgic aesthetic will take you back to the home distillery days with VA folk rock acts like Jackson Ward, Red Neck Pool Party, and Cabin Creek. The event will also host a few craft and specialty goods vendors to ensure entertainment for all attendees.

iHeart Media’s Alternative-Rock station XL102 (102.1) will giving away tickets to callers this week. The local radio station will also be present at the event.
