Merida, Mexico, November 5, 2014Hacienda Petac, just one half hour from Merida in the Yucatan announces Yoga Retreat Week 2015.  Sessions will be for 6 days and are designed to give participants a total escape from everyday stresses. Sessions will be conducted by guest yoga instructor Jody Atkinson of Ayu Yoga Studio, http://www.ayuyogastudio.com.  She has been practicing yoga since 1970 earning her teacher certification at the Birchwood Center in Nyack, New York.   Jody’s classes are a joyful synthesis of mind, body and spirit, as she brings to each class her unique combination of humor, discipline, and humility.

The private Hacienda Petac is the perfect setting for a complete retreat.  This beautifully restored estate spreads out over 250 acres of gardens and natural habitat where bird calls and gentle winds are the ambient noise. Relax as a staff of 23 provides flawless service.  Enjoy a Mayan massage in your private spa, or a hydrotherapy soak in the Jacuzzi; lounge poolside in a hammock, margarita in hand.

Stay in one of the Hacienda’s seven spacious guest rooms which are located in three buildings surrounding the main house. Each room has soaring ceilings and beautiful native stone bathrooms with shower and tub. All have air conditioning and ceiling fans but for those guests who prefer, abundant natural breezes through large windows offer a pleasant, natural experience. In 2013, the owners announced the opening of Casa Ramon, a 3,000 square foot casita with two master bedrooms and adjoining living room/home theater. Casa Ramon, named for the towering trees that offer a canopy of cool shade, seamlessly retains the exquisite genuine architecture of Hacienda Petac while integrating smart technology in sound and lighting for the teckie traveler.

Hacienda Petac is located approximately 30 minutes from Merida International Airport, which is served by frequent flights from Houston, Miami, Atlanta and Mexico City. From Cancun, the Hacienda is a four hour drive.  For guests who wish to explore the diverse attractions of this region, several of the world’s finest Mayan archeological sites, wildlife reserves, and underwater caves are within an hour.

Price for Yoga Retreat is $1400 + 3% tax per person.  The package can include no more than 10 people and is a minimum of six nights.

Besides yoga groups, Hacienda Petac is also available for culinary groups, spa getaways and family gatherings.
