Lexington has been named to several lists in the last few months.  Here are a just a few we are very proud to announce!Lexington was recently named to the Top 10 Most Affordable Foodie Cities in the United States. WalletHub analyzed the 150 most populated U.S. cities to find the most and least economical foodie scenes in the country. They examined 18 key metrics, ranging from the cost of groceries to the number of restaurants per capita.

Trivago has just named Lexington # 22 on the Top 50 US Best Value Cities for 2015! The trivago Best Value City index highlights 50 undiscovered US cities that are sure to make your wallet and inner explorer happy in 2015. The list was put together based on the annual average price of a standard double room, combined with the city’s overall hotel rating according to more than 140 million user reviews.

While Lexington is known for bourbon and horses, locals know it for a whole lot more! Last year VisitLEX launched a marketing campaign driven by the recommendations from several of Lexington’s finest locals through print, digital and video.  The award #SharetheLEX social media campaign is back and bigger than ever with words of wisdom from Henry Clay!  Discover why locals love Lexington and find out how we’re getting them to help us share the word by watching this new video.

 

 

Celebrate the holidays in Lexington, KY with a variety of special events and programs.  The Kentucky Horse Park’s Southern Lights is open from November 20 through December 31st. The simple beauty of Shaker celebrations takes on a greater significance during special holiday events at the restored Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill.  The Unified Trust Company Ice Rink at Triangle Park in downtown Lexington is open for the season through January 11th. Climb aboard the Bluegrass Scenic Railway’s Santa Claus Special for a scenic holiday train excursion past holiday scenes, elves and Bluegrass countryside. You can also board the Lexington Dinner Train behind Rupp Arena and enjoy the North Pole Express.
