We are the Culinary Institute of Como, northern part of Italy.

 

We are glad to put at your disposal for your cooking courses some of our professional laboratories and in particular:

 

For the Amateurs

  • the LaTeBa (the Basic Techniques Lab) with 25 individual places furnished by Electrolux;
  • the CucGra (the big kitchen): a 250 sqm space divided in 4 sectors: appetizer, first dishes, second dishes and dessert. Attached to this kitchen there is a restaurant for 90 seats;
  • a bakery/pizzeria sector;
  • the kitchen of our new restaurant located in Carate Urio, soon after Versace’s villa and just before George Clooney’s,Ristorante Acquadolce  It has a private dock for the motorboat and a beautiful glass veranda facing directly the lake;
  • the kitchen of a private house in Como (just for 2-max 3 people).

All our lessons are held both in Italian and English and are hands-on.

If requested, before the cooking lesson start, the participants can go together with the Chef to the local market and learn about the different varieties of food and drinks Italian people have at their disposal. This aspect is very interesting and it is the cultural part of the lesson because learning about the food habits helps to understand better the Italian people.

 

For the Professional Chefs
The other restaurant we run downtown Como (Trattoria Gerbet) can be put at disposal of the professional chefs, or the high profile amateurs, who want to experience a real day of work in the preparation at lunch time of meals for the regular customers of the restaurant, with also the possibility to introduce one or two of their preferred dishes.
