Run the Bluegrass Half-MarathonMost major races are held in the host cities’ downtown. Very urban environments…but not Run The Bluegrass!
This race starts and finishes on some of the most beautifully manicured land in the United States, Keeneland Race Course. Throughout the race runners traverse through Lexington’s multi-million dollar Thoroughbred Farms – something you can only experience in Lexington, KY! Combine the 13.1 miles with a weekend of Kentucky Bourbon Trail distillery visits and tastings, Lexington’s unique restaurants and shops, plus tours of some of our most famous Thoroughbred Farms, you’re not just running a race, you’re experiencing life at its grandest. This year, Heather Abbott of New England, one of the injured at the Boston Marathon Finish Line, will be an honored guest.Run the Bluegrass is set for Saturday, March 29th.

Kentucky Crafted: The Market

Nowhere in Kentucky, let alone the nation, will you find such a convergence of high quality art, craft, literature, music, film and food as you will at Kentucky Crafted: The Market.
Stop by and visit with featured artist and Lexington’s own, Amelia Stamps, at this year’s Market. After completing a commissioned project to design and carve a tile mural, Stamps was inspired to create a series of hand-carved porcelain tiles that stem from the same vein as her functional pottery line – whimsical and graceful, yet practical.Amelia Stamps is just one of more than 200 artists who will be at Kentucky Crafted: The Market this spring, March 7-9 at the Lexington Convention Center.  The Market features traditional and contemporary fine art and craft along with Kentucky-related books, musical recordings, films and specialty food products.http://artscouncil.ky.gov/KentuckyArt/2014Market.htm
