Historic Hotel Fall/Winter Announcement

“Pardon Our Appearance ~ The Castle Makeover Begins

At The King and Prince ~ St. Simons Island, Georgia

St. Simons Island, Georgia (December 2013)            The historic King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort is pleased to announce that the long-awaited comprehensive renovation project, complete with new culinary offerings and updated common areas, began November 20, 2013 and will be concluded February 14, 2014.

The ‘Castle Makeover’ is a beautifying project that is taking place primarily in the lobby Atrium, transforming the hotel into a blend of ‘modern luxury and style with impeccable Southern hospitality”.

The family that owns the resort recognizes the importance of providing a place that meets the needs of today’s travelers while also remembering what our loyal guests cherish about the Hotel. This project continues the family’s reinvestment into their own treasured destination. The lobby, restaurant and bar will be relocated by Winter 2014. The $7.7 million renovation will complete the project that began in the Winter of 2012 with the renovation of event space, front desk and outdoor pool complex.

On February 14th, our owners, managers and staff will be proud to present a spectacular ‘castle by the sea’, which many generations to come will enjoy.

The Hotel’s classic tropical island beauty continues to prevail during the three month makeover. Guests will still enjoy the genuine comfort and care in guestrooms and villas while being welcomed into the temporary entrance in the historic oceanfront Solarium. Many guests recall this beautiful and original Hotel entrance, now being invited to ‘Step Back in Time’ to The King and Prince 1935.
