(CHEVY CHASE, MD) – Travel Channel is partnering with Unicomm LLC, producers of the nation’s larget and leading series of travel shows, as the national TV media sponsor for the Travel & Adventure Shows 2013/2014.  Travel Channel hosts including Todd Carmichael (“Dangerous Grounds”), Bert Kreischer (“Trip Flip”) and Don Wildman (“Mysteries at the Museum”) will take turns making appearances in each of the following markets: Dallas, Chicago, Santa Clara, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C. and San Diego.  Additionally, Travel Channel Host Samantha Brown (“The Trip: 2014”) will make appearances at the five shows in 2014.

“Travel Channel celebrates the passion and curiosity for surprising, unexpected, and off the beaten path experiences; and the Travel and Adventure Show is the perfect environment to showcase the hosts of our travel entertainment programming.  Bert, Don, Samantha and Todd will surely inspire attendees to plan their own fabulous journeys,” says Shannon O’Neill, SVP and CFO, Travel Channel.

“When television’s only dedicated travel entertainment network joins the largest series of U.S. travel shows – traveling consumers benefit,” said John Golicz, CEO, Unicomm.  Golicz continued, “It is a perfect synergy as we give Travel Channel consumer-facing events reaching 100,000’s to promote their talent and programming, and our attendees get to hear expert advice from and meet their favorite Travel Channel hosts.”

Fun-seeker and travel expert Bert Kreischer, host of “Trip Flip,” will kick off Travel Channel’s partnership with an appearance at the Travel & Adventure Show in Dallas onNovember 2, 2013.  Additionally, he will speak at the Chicago (January 11) and Santa Clara (January 25-26) shows.  Coffee entrepreneur and adventurer Todd Carmichael, host of “Dangerous Grounds,” and history explorer and museum enthusiast Don Wildman, host of “Mysteries at the Museum,” will both be at the Travel & Adventure Shows in Los Angeles (February 8-9) and Washington, D.C. The following is a brief description of the popular series hosted by this group of Travel Channel’s experts:

Dangerous Grounds” features coffee magnate and adventurer Todd Carmichael as he hunts down rare strains of coffee in some of the most fascinating and unseen places in the world.  His business depends on sourcing coffee so extraordinary; it’s sought after by the world’s top chefs.  Whether he’s sleeping under his truck to avoid being detected or using makeshift repairs to fix a broken engine, Carmichael risks it all tracking his way from villages to mountain enclaves where the best coffee fruit hides.

Mysteries at the Museum” spans the country exploring local archives, storefront collections and the hallowed halls of stately institutions to uncover the objects and artifacts that reveal the nation’s hidden secrets.  History explorer and museum enthusiast Don Wildman scours a range of museums in search of extraordinary relics, and behind each artifact is a story to be told – often brimming with scandal, mystery, murder and intrigue.

In “Trip Flip“, professional fun-seeker and travel expert Bert Kreischer gets two random people to agree to a 3-day surprise adventure.  Kreischer delivers an action-packed itinerary stacked with the kind of VIP-access, accommodations, gourmet food, unexpected twists and celebrity appearances that only Travel Channel can deliver.

The Trip: 2014” is a multi-platform programming event that explores the ultimate experiences in a specific region of the world.  “The Trip: 2014” will feature Travel Channel hosts Samantha Brown, Anthony Melchiorri, Adam Richman and Don Wildman as they take viewers on a once-in-lifetime trip through Spain and Morocco.  One lucky winner and a companion will win the exclusive opportunity to experience this envy-inspiring itinerary.
