The book will be a companion of sorts to Iconic Spirits: An Intoxicating History, and shares many of the same features—compelling stories and an amazing group of characters. The first half will detail the history of moonshine in America, beginning with the Whiskey Rebellion and continuing on through the Civil War to Prohibition and beyond. In the second half, I’ll profile the leading producers of legal moonshine, some of which have deep roots in the bootlegging days of the Appalachian South. This should be a fascinating project, and I’ll keep you posted!

Iconic Spirits: An Intoxicating History
