Jolly Oyster Kitchen!  A Fresh New Addition to the Jolly Oyster

Shuck Shack

Popular purveyor of oysters and clams announces its new food truck “kitchen” in Ventura

(Ventura, CA) – The Jolly Oyster, which has been dealing out beautifully fresh Kumamoto and Pacific oysters and Manila clams in the shell for the past two years, is now serving up meals from its new Jolly Oyster Kitchen

Located at the San Buenaventura State Beach Park the Jolly Oyster Kitchen specializes in raw, baked and fried oysters. The raw Kumamoto farm reserves are deliciously sweet with an umami finish, the raw Pacific oysters are briny with hints of cucumber. The Jolly Baked Oysters are accompanied by Creole Baked Oysters; the fried oyster options include deliciously succulent morsels rolled in Panko breadcrumbs and an oyster taco served in a handmade non-GMO corn tortilla.

“It is the ideal eatery for a group of friends to share plates, tapas style, and experience locally-sourced cuisine that highlights our shellfish”, explains Mark Reynolds, founder and owner. “When you can find fresh seafood direct from the source it’s best for the natural flavors to speak for themselves. Our menu is designed to be simple but we take a great deal of care to accompany our dishes with our house-made sauces, tortillas, breads and pickles.”

Other popular menu items include classic Manila Clam Steamers which are also sourced from The Jolly Oyster farms, a bright fresh Baja Bay Scallop Ceviche and Baja Stone crab claws. Stepping outside of the sea, the kitchen offers an organic mixed green salad with roasted beets and feta cheese; the kids can enjoy a grass fed California beef hamburger with cheese and house-made dill pickles (from The Ventura Meat Co.).
