Over the past few years, Mandarin Boutique Hotel has built up a loyal following of guests, who choose to return to this idyllic rural retreat for a variety of reasons. Here are five of the most popular ones:

1. Stunning scenery and wonderful walks

Our rural setting in the sleepy hamlet of Faralya is perfect for those who enjoy nature at its most unspoilt. With mountain and coastal walks – including the well sign-posted Lycian Way and the idyllic Butterfly Valley – right on our doorstep, keen walkers are spoilt for choice. In springtime, the fields and meadows all around us are ablaze with the vivid colours of countless wild flowers, making the early season an ideal time for nature-lovers. If you enjoy walking in like-minded company, why not join ourGuided Walking Weeks in April, May and October?

2. Amazing archaeological sites

South-west Turkey is literally littered with archaeological sites, as successive civilisations dating back thousands of years have all left their legacy. Amongst the ancient sites that can easily be visited from here are Tlos, Xanthos, Pinara, Patara, Cadyanda, Caunos, Kybira and Sagalassos, whilst other nearby attractions include the imposing gorge at Saklikent and the deserted ghost village of Kaya. 3. Beautiful beaches and crystalline coves

Anyone visiting Turkey in the summer will undoubtedly wish to swim in the warm waters of the Mediterranean sea. From Mandarin, you can ramble down to the unspoilt rocky cove of Aktas with crystal-clear waters that are perfect for snorkelling, or reach the sandy beaches of Kabak and Kidrak, a short drive or bus ride away. We can even arrange a day out visiting hidden coves on a private boat with a captain, please click here for details. Of course, for those occasions when you cannot drag yourself away from Mandarin’s secluded setting, we also have a refreshing swimming pool set in mature gardens.

4. Traditional Turkish tastes

Part of the pleasure of a foreign vacation is to sample the local cuisine, and at Mandarin we believe passionately in offering our guests a true taste of Turkey, from our traditional breakfasts via the small pastries served with our complimentary afternoon tea, to the gastronomic highlight of the day: our five-course dinners served on our romantic terrace, in the pretty gardens or in our intimate dining room, depending on the weather. Using regional recipes passed down through generations, our culinary creations make full use of fresh local produce, much of it organic, all accompanied by a carefully chosen wine list. For keen hobby cooks, our Turkish Cuisine Week from 21 to 28 October offers the chance to learn about Turkish cuisine, and to practice recreating some of our favourite dishes.

5. Romantic Rooms

And so to bed… However you have chosen to spend your day, it is always a pleasure to return to your home-from-home at Mandarin. Our eight rooms and suites are exceptionally spacious and tastefully appointed with hand-made furnishings. All our double rooms have super-kingsize four-poster beds, as well as double-size Jacuzzis, making them ideal for honeymooners and romantic couples. And of course, each has either a large balcony or its own garden terrace.

Of course, don’t just take our word for it. To read what previous guests have thought about Mandarin, have a browse through our guestbook, or check our online reviews on tripadvisor.
