Brussels, October 2012

Annual Congress of the Global Greeter Network recently held in Brussels. Represented 23 networks from the 4 corners of the world have evaluated the impact of the Charter of Greeters, welcoming new networks as well as the structure and communication of the Global Greeter Network serving tourists. This meeting highlighted the increasing success of this participatory tourism both for guests and tourists. Volunteer for a meeting hosted by or Greeter, otherwise they discover their holiday, they see through the heart of their shots host. They enjoy all facets in an exchange is most often in their language and of their availability schedule.

The values in the Charter that unite the world Greeters are a reference in sustainable tourism. It is highlighting the local economic development and growth of local populations, the long-term preservation of natural, cultural and social practice authentic encounters between travelers and local populations.

Greeters fifty additional antennas are in preparation and Belgium is no exception: established in Brussels in May 2010 at the initiative of Tourism otherwise Greeters.be network is present in Namur, Mons and Charleroi-Thudinie. The Belgian coast and Verviers now developing an antenna. And others will follow.
