From October 9, 2012 to July 1, 2013, the Mundaneum in Mons invites you on a fabulous journey: discover the history of knowledge. This exhibition is supported by Google.
The Mundaneum opened in 1910, the brainchild of two Belgian lawyers Paul Otlet and Henri La Fontaine. Their objective was to gather the entire world’s knowledge and classify it Their ultimate goal was to preserve peace by assembling knowledge and making it accessible to the entire world. The Mundaneum project, which in 1913, totaled 16 million neatly organized 3 x5 index cards, is now located in a beautiful Art Deco building in Mons, one hour from Brussels. Since March 2012, Google helped support the project.
