Tourist arrivals to Malaysia increased by 1.2% for the first five months of 2012, from 9,323,827 last year to 9,438,592 in 2012. The Ministry of Tourism is aiming to reach 36 million tourists with the Malaysia TourismTransformation Plan.

The Minister of Tourism Malaysia recently launched the Bukit Bintang KLCC Tourist Privilege Card, which provides tourists with discounts and exclusive specials while shopping. The program is part of a larger initiative to establish Malaysia as a world shopping destination.
